Dressed By Katy

The choker trend is staying for this spring/summer 16' season ladies! And the best bit? You don't even need to buy a choker. Dw gals, I hear you asking for more info...

Lately, I've seen loads of printed scarves, thin velvet fabric and tiny cord being used for makeshift chokers from all types of influencers. Recently, I've been finding bits of fabric around the house and been using them for my own self-tied chokers.

I dare you to have a rummage through your wardrobe and I bet you'll find something suitable. Just have a good look and don't be scared to experiment with different colours and textures. If there's no luck finding something at home, you could always pop to your local craft shop and pick up 1 metre of ribbon for no more than 29p! They will have reels and reels of choices and if you do pick up some ribbon, remember to heat seal the edges so it doesn't fray.

So, today I thought I'd share one of my home made chokers. This is the easiest colour to style by far! I mean, what doesn't go with black?

I'm wearing the most amazzzzing dress. It's made from suedette material and has a gorgeous lace up sleeve detail. It's so versatile, that it can be worn as a casual day dress with an edge and then easily be worn through to the night. It's advertised as grey however I would definitely say it's more of a dusty blue (is dusty blue even a thing..!?)

I've finished the look off with adding a longline faux leather waistcoat which I sadly don't get enough wear out of.

You can get the dress here for £30 and the waistcoat here which has gone into sale for £13 - Thirteen glorious pounds.

See you soon, lots of love, Katy
