Dressed By Two

Happy Easter folks!

Here is another outfit post from our holiday in Dubai (2 posts in one week? I know… we’re spoiling ya!!) You may get confused because Lucy did a recent post about our afternoon tea date and she isn't wearing the same outfit so OK. Got some owning up to-do. We were running crazily late so had to put our outfits back on to shoot some pictures. We got in a muddle and forgot what we actually wore on what days. That may have something to do with being drunk for a lot of our time in Dubai!

We had the delicious pleasure of enjoying a J W Marriott hotel afternoon tea which was the absolute bomb. Of course the food was amazing but even the room we were sat in felt like it belonged to the Royals. The room is dark with tall green plants, the walls are plastered with different sized mirrors, the tables are marble and the seats are the comfiest place you’d ever wish for your bum to enjoy.

I know Lucy has already slightly gone into our afternoon tea experience in another post but let us REEEALLY go into it!! So first up we had to pick a tea from the never-ending list. Our cute as pie waitress came back with our glass teapots which were on top of a glass candle holder to keep our tea warm (what an amazing invention). She also brought along a ‘perfect tea timer’, which had 3 different coloured sand hourglasses to make sure our brew was perfect!

Out next was a shot of detoxing juice to help us get through the next 4 hours of eating. We shit you not. We were there for 4 hours!! Food wise, the first thing we ate was a Berrie Pot. It was delicious and we think every afternoon tea should start with fruit! Then arrived the 3 tiered stand of tasty treats… I’m talking Turkey Ham, Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Mini Egg Truffle, Cucumber & Cream Cheese and Chicken & Mango finger sandwiches. They were a straight 10/10!! Then we had 4 cakes: chocolate brownie, red velvet, baked cheesecake and coffee, proper yum. The cakes were swiftly followed by 3 more cakes… a giant chocolate macaroon, a chocolate cup and mini ├ęclairs. By this point, I’m sure you could guess but we were stuffed to the high heavens!! The waitress then removed one of the tiers and replaced it with another tier filled with Quiches. Never in my life have I ever tried a caramelized mushroom quiche but it was gurt lush.

We sat around for a while trying not to make eye contact with our waitress because we were nowhere near ready for the next round! Eventually she brought out warm homemade scones and strawberry and cream. They were, of course, massive. We were ridiculously full by this point and started getting our things together to make a move but next thing you know, our waitress is coming out with 3 more cakes, chocolate chip, cranberry and apple cinnamon. We were full on stuffed and probably only eat a mouthful of the cake!

This place is a dream for all afternoon tea lovers and we had such a good time. The staff were so polite, the food was amazing and the value for money?!?! Unquestionably amazing.

We wanted to wear something comfy, as we knew we’d be the size of a house when we left. So what better thing to wear than an elasticated waist jumpsuit and baggy trousers?!
